Post-programming computing

Beyond programming paradigms and treating the whole Internet as the comptuer

Rodrigo Tello

I started working on programming environments in 2015. Specifically, at programming environment for kids. Since then, I've been in the middle of the debate from communities, professionals, colleagues, researchers that will discuss about dilemas like "code vs no-code", "text-based programming languages vs visual programming languages", and so on. Other dilemas or dreams include I believe, these.

A strange paradoxical corollary will be: there is no need to inovate on any given system since the combination of the existing tools will emerge a medium, artifact, ecosystem and environment that will superceed and overshadow the existing tools, mediums, therefore creating a new tool. Inovation will happen, but innovation should not be pursued. Innovation happens outside the tool & system being designed.

Everything is the computer: whole computer, the suit of apps, the operative systems, the clunky file systems and confusing graphic-user interfaces. What we need is culture.

The whole computer is the programming environment.
