Design is a search engine

Rodrigo Tello

Design is a process that searches in the combinatorial space of the components and matter its' working with, it visualizes all the digital or physical object possible states, to find what's sticky.

Design is, at its core, a manifestation of intent — a systematic organization of components to achieve specific outcomes. Often associated with aesthetics, it explores and plans how we interact with environments, both digital and physical. From software applications to architectural objects, design outlines function, process, materiality. It is an iterative process that filters and selects the best solution from a vast array of possibilities.

There is no set algorithm, but guiding principles, constraints, and desires that fluctuate in weight across time, pulling and pussing the direction of the search.
